Discover Cheshire - on our doorstep

Your visit would not be complete without exploring Cheshire - you will find a wide range of local events, Cheshire country pubs and places to visit.beeston castle

Discover Cheshire villages and market towns - peppered with historic buildings, traditional cottages, industrial heritage and landscapes. Many of the rural villages are home to some great historic houses, most of which have popular gardens to visit.

Lets not forget that Cheshire has more gardens open to the public, per head of population than anywhere else in the UK - what better reason to celebrate this than with Cheshire's Year of Gardens 08 - a year-long celebration of the rich heritage of Cheshire gardens. Along with a programme of events and activities for the whole year.

Cheshire offers some beautiful scenery, making it an ideal county for outdoor pursuits and activities. On the doorstep are the Sandstone Trail, canal walks, horse riding and the Cheshire cycle route.

Yet only 8 miles down the road is the historic city of Chester, with its famous Rows - two tiers of shops, its famous clock - the second most photographed clock in the world, the Roman Amphitheatre. Chester plays host to a variety of events throughout the year - try your luck at one of the many Chester Races meetings or one of the many Chester Festivals including the Literature Festival or the Fashion Festival.
